Extending Dining Table
A specially commissioned extending dining table in figured walnut having a black lacquer finish.
The table starts as a 54" diameter circular table with 8" crescent leaves and extends to 70" diameter. The table can also extend to 180" in length by inserting five table leaves once the crescent leaves have been removed.
The base comprises of eight shaped legs. They are positioned so that when the table is a round, the legs are doubled up but when the table is extended to insert the leaves, the two outside legs separate to give support to the both ends of the table.
The table top is in figured walnut with a "wagon wheel" effect in walnut cross-banding and is lightly antiqued and distressed with a black lacquer finish.
